Karen Fisher
Karen Fisher grew up in Hanford, California, and now lives with her family on an island in Pugent Sound in Washington. Karen has worked as a teacher, wrangler, farmer, and carpenter. Her first book, A Sudden Country, garnered many awards. (Winner MPBA Award, 2006 Best Fiction; Finalist Pen/Faulkner Award, 2006; Finalist, Los Angeles Times First Fiction Award, 2006; Finalist, Spur Award, 2006; Winner, Virginia Commonwealth University First Novel Award, 2006; Winner, Sherwood Anderson Fiction.) In addition to completing a screenplay for A Sudden Country, Karen is presently working on a new novel.
